The mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená, accompanied on the piano by Sir Simon Rattle, conjures up images of women from European literature and folklore, with a recital full of ever-changing colour in which melodies by Debussy and Dvořák are intertwined with Moravian songs by Janáček, lieder by Brahms and Strauss, and works by Martinů.
